Catherine Lambermont
Catherine Lambermont’s artistic interest lies in perception and visibility, appearance or disappearance. She explores the nature itself of the image, multiple layers of form and meaning, referring to non-represented things, to the strength of evocation or suggestion of plain objects, confronted with the subjective, unique experience we have of them.
Using photography, drawing, painting, and installation, she depicts domestic spaces or commonplaces, at the border of the bizarre and familiar, on the edge of time, space, and fading memories.
Quiet and anonymous life, trivial environments, anecdotal objects turn into mental landscapes between reality and fiction, observing the emptiness, the off-screen just as an awoken dreamer would do, an anxious tightrope walker in a fragile balance.
